Founded in 2014, Afro Entertainment has spent over a decade organizing the country's biggest Afrobeat parties and its only pan-African football tournament.

Founder

Edmond Atemnkeng

Edmond Atemnkeng is a Cameroonian-Korean businessman, originally from Linde, Cameroon, and a naturalized Korean citizen who has called Korea home for roughly two decades.

Alongside Afro Entertainment, he founded Shoes4Africa, a separate nonprofit organization, and serves as chairperson of the KAFCON organizing committee.

His public commentary trail dates back to at least 2013, when he wrote guest opinion pieces for Korean expat media on foreigner and corporate culture in Korea, while working for Johnson & Johnson Korea — the same year he began building the community ties that would eventually become Afro Entertainment.

2014

Afro Entertainment is founded

Started organizing Afrobeat parties and events for the African community across South Korea.

2020s

Artist bookings go international

Started flying African artists in for one-off Korea shows, bringing Gqom, Amapiano, and Afrobeats acts to local stages.

2022

KAFCON is launched

The Korea Africa Cup of Nations kicks off — an annual football tournament designed to unite Africans living in Korea and promote a positive image of the continent through sport.

A full-service entertainment company

Event logistics, artist management, merchandise, and production — all under one roof, still rooted in the same community-first mission.

Mission

Sport and sound as bridges

Whether it's twelve nations on a pitch outside Pyeongtaek or a packed dance floor in Itaewon, the goal has stayed the same: give the African diaspora in Korea a stage of its own, and give Korea a genuine, joyful window into African culture.
